Cardio reduces muscle gains because it uses to much of your energy. Better to rest.
I go to the gym 3 times / week and play football 3 times/ week. My mate did the same until he quit football. It's just easier to gain muscle if you are not wasting fuel on running around. I'd rather do calisthenics on day 4 instead of cardio.
